A LETTER FROM HEROES FARM - GOD'S PLAN UNFOLDS!
Dear Grassroots Heroes,
Much continues to happen at Heroes Farm and Mango Grove Community School - below are reports on some of what you are accomplishing in Zambia:
A LETTER FROM YWAM'S FRONTIER MISSION CENTER DIRECTOR
"Many, O Lord my God are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak of them, they would be too many to declare." Psalm 40:5
We are in a season of God's favor. Early in March, I got a call from a colleague who wanted to know if we were interested in a multi- acre plot just outside of the city of Lusaka. To cut a long story short, we met with an American couple who were looking for someone to partner with them on this property and work into the neighboring squatter's community. A year before, God had told us we needed to develop income producing projects to support missions. We needed land for that to happen. We also needed a venue for training missionaries. Could this be the answer? The first visit to Heroes Farm had our heads spinning with possibilities.
This place is absolutely beautiful. The farm has lemon, orange, tangerine, peach, guava and banana trees; a six bedroom, five bath house (fully furnished): a chicken run to house 3,000 chickens, a lake; a well and storage tank; and the use of a truck. Wow! And all for the same price that we were paying for the flat/office. Yes Lord!
Our vision is to develop a tea garden and venue for families to get away from the city for a day; a plant nursery, a venue for training missionaries and accommodation for visiting teams. Our tea garden and plant nursery will be marketed to the Muslim and Hindu community so that we can share the love of Jesus while we serve them with food and fun. Income from the t ea garden and nursery will be used to fund the growing ministry of Frontier Missions Center. We have already started clearing a site, which was formerly the piggery, for the tea garden. It sits in front of the lake and is an absolutely spectacular spot for having a cup of tea and relaxing away from the bustle of the city.
Thanks to a one time gift from a supporter, we were able to buy 20 bunk beds and mattresses as well as 20 chairs for the classroom. Already we have had two outreach teams and a youth camp during the month of April. The place is buzzing with activity!
When I asked God why we were blessed with the farm, I got the scripture from John 4:30 "I have sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work and you have reaped the benefit of their labor." Thanks to all of you who have labored in prayer for us and given generously. Praise God for all He has done at the Frontier Missions Center at Heroes Farm - our new property, new staff, new programs, our partnership with Grassroots Heroes, all provided as means to reach His goal of 10,000 Africans in the frontiers of the world of unreached people by 2020. May many be sent from here with the Light that brings hope to all peoples"

ZAMBIAN YOUTH CONTINUE OUTREACH TO GRIPPIS FARM
The Zambian youth who participated in the outreach ministry through YWAM to Grippis Farm were so moved by the poverty of the people that they organized on their own to collect used clothing for the people. They returned to the village and handed out the clothing. The ministry at Grippis Farm is truly a grassroots effort led by the Holy Spirit!
SECOND CHICKEN CYCLE GEARING UP
The first cycle of the chicken project was a huge success! All the chickens were sold at a good price, and the profits are now ready to reinvest in the second round of chickens. In addition to covering the cost of all the supplies needed and the 3 day old chicks, they will be able to purchase a ceramic heater to replace the use of charcoal heaters which were very expensive to operate due to the current high prices of charcoal. Dr. Moyo, the founder of Mango Grove Community School, has agreed to take the reigns of managing the chicken project for the school. He will begin very soon with the second cycle of chickens. We don't have enough to fund more than 1,000 chicks, but if the court case goes our way, we will be able to buy 2,000 chicks for the third cycle, which will provide more funds to pay teacher stipends and buy books and materials for the school.
COURT JUDGMENT DELAYED
The judge heard the arguments of both sides in the court case brought by the Mbebas against the villagers for control of the school. He said he will pronounce judgment on July 14. We continue to pray, and to wait on the Lord for his will to be done. Please pray with us.
FUND RAISERS BRING IN FUNDS FOR THE ZAMBIAN MINISTRIES
Thanks to all who participated in the Lent change collection fund raiser. You gave over $500! This money will be greatly appreciated by the school and the YWAM ministries. In addition, the hot dog stand which many of you manned earned another $600! Purse sales also added another $200 to the funds for ministry. You are doing a great job!
YARD SALE ON JUNE 27
We are having a yard sale for Grassroots Heroes on June 27 in Stuarts Draft. We need donations and volunteers to work at the sale. The location is yet to be announced, but I will get that to you as soon as possible. MISSION TEAM FORMING FOR 2010
We're All God's Children, a non profit organization, is organizing a mission trip to Zambia for June of 2010. They will assess eye sight in Grippis Farm and several other rural villages and distribute eye glasses to those who need them. In addition, they want to do a construction project for Grippis Farm - a new school building or health clinic! They will be evangelizing in each place they minister.
