SPIRITUAL OUTREACH AT HEROES FARM
The two outreaches (weekends of 17th-19th and 24th-26th April) of our evening ministry school went very well and part of it was door to door ministry in GRIPPIS and that also was such a joy. We prayed with a lot of families, individuals and without the exact statistics I would say upwards of twenty people committed their lives to the Lord, one of which was a man known for strong witchcraft powers, praise God!
Dear Grassroots Heroes,
I have great news from Zambia about the spiritual ministry going on through our partner, Youth With A Mission from Heroes Farm! Below is a report sent by Ron Chideme, who lives in Heroes Farm, and works with Grassroots Heroes to link with the Grippis Farm Community. I hope the report will bless you as you see what your support is bringing about in the lives of the poorest of the poor in Zambia! God's spirit is moving. Also, below is a report on the chicken project and the court hearing.
SPIRITUAL OUTREACH AT HEROES FARM
The two outreaches (weekends of 17th-19th and 24th-26th April) of our evening ministry school went very well and part of it was door to door ministry in GRIPPIS and that also was such a joy. From the 29th April to the 3rd May we had the youth camp (15-22 year olds), and that was fantastic. We had eighteen teenagers who were really blessed, challenged and equipped in their personal walk with the Lord as well as challenged about missions. The theme of the camp was ‘Pay it Forward' with the challenge that every good/blessing that they receive must be paid to the next person and not necessarily ‘backwards' (the source of blessing/ gift). We were so inspired that we are now planning for more such camps in the future.
The garden is daily getting greener and it's all encouraging and exciting. Part of our outreach took us to the Indian community where we connected with them and as a result some of the vegetables we've planted are specifically to sell to the Indian community and they've assured us of a ready market.
We appreciate all your support in prayers, encouraging words for what is already happening and yet to come on the Heroes farm. I am convinced that through this farm lives will truly be transformed, hearts mended/ healed, relationships healed and built, destinies fulfilled and so much more for the Zambian community.
Ronald Chideme.
BYE BYE BIRDIE!
The chickens are all sold! What a tremendously successful first cycle in the chicken project! We rejoice and thank all those who worked so hard to fund and to carry out this project! The Mango Grove Community School now has a way to fund some of its own costs. This is a first for them, and a miracle of immense proportions. It was never something they could imagine - and it is obvious why. It cost more than fifteen thousand dollars to get it up and running! That is more than one of these poor Zambians will make in a life time. They are in awe, and so thankful for this amazing support and help for their children's futures. An education will lift their children out of the illiteracy and hopelessness in which the parents live. Thank you supporters!
If you would like to continue to raise money for Bucks for Clucks, it is still needed. The project currently raises 1,000 chickens. It earns a small profit. With another 1,000 chickens, the profit could double. Plus, to increase the profit, electric heaters need to be purchased to replace the very expensive charcoal heat that is being used to keep the chicks warm. You could help by organizing a Bucks for Clucks walk-a-thon, bike-a thon, or swim-a thon with your friends and school mates. Be creative! We did it together for the first 1,000 chicks, we can do it again for the second 1,000! $10,000 is needed to double the project size. Donate at www.grassrootshoeres.org

COURT HEARING THIS FRIDAY
The initial hearing before the judge concerning the Mango Grove Community School will be held this Friday. The hearing will decide if the case will proceed to trial. Dr. Moyo, the founder of Mango Grove Community School who is helping the community through the legal process wrote this today "We hope and pray for the best. Tomorrow the three people sued and ourselves are going to have a prayer meeting in the evening at our house. Pray for us."
On Thursday we are asking you to join in a day of prayer for the hearing. Pray that God would bring about justice for the oppressed
and downtrodden of Grippis Farm. I will let you know as soon as I know anything on Friday about the judgment. If you would like to donate to help cover legal fees, so far they have been $1,600.
Donate at www.grassrootsheroes.org or mail a check to the mailing address on the web site.
Rich Blessings,
Tanya Brenneman
